Lap tables: ranges, metrics and display
Compare laps by full lap, sector, corner or straight, with metrics from recorded channels, saved calculations and states.
Where to find it
- + (Add panel) → Lap table
- in the table: + (Add metric), ⋯ (Lap table options) and the column headings
Steps
- 1
Choose recordings and a range
The recording button reads Follow · or Fixed · with the recording name; open it to choose Follow current or Fixed selection and tick up to 8 recordings. Then pick a range tab: Full lap, Sectors, Corner or Straight.
- 2
Add metrics
Click + (Add metric). Choose a Channel (recorded, calculated or a state), a Value method such as Minimum value, Maximum sample value, Sample mean or Maximum absolute value, and Position and range. Tick Add statistics together for several columns at once, then click Add metric. Its Sectors tab adds sector times as columns (S1… or Add all sectors); without calibration, an AiM XRK recording can fill them from the logger's split times.
- 3
Edit columns
Click a heading to edit the metric: Display unit, Comparison (Automatic, Compare magnitude, Lower is better or Higher is better), Column name, Ascending ↑ or Descending ↓, Hide or Delete, then Save metric. Drag headings to reorder.
- 4
Pick laps and the reference
In ⋯ (Lap table options), Show laps chooses up to 128 laps (All valid laps or Clear) and Reference lap sets the baseline for deltas.
- 5
Filter and lay out
Table filters limits the samples used (Channel conditions) and the laps shown (Result filters), up to 4 of each. Regions as rows, laps as columns flips the table; Appearance sets colors, text size and Visible content.
- 6
Go to the data
Click a lap number or a value to locate it in the plots; a lap from another recording switches recording. Right-click a lap number of the current recording to assign its rider in Record info.
Good to know
Custom ranges
⋯ → Custom range uses an Action interval from a saved state (with Matching interval and Search range), Use current plot selection, or a Fixed position from the calibration.
Sign and magnitude
Maximum absolute value compares magnitude: −293 is larger than +192. Minimum value and Maximum sample value keep their sign. RMS describes the overall level, not the peak.
Display units
Display unit offers only compatible conversions and changes values and labels together. It cannot repair a wrong calibration or formula; use Correction for that.
Empty cells
An empty cell shows a short reason, such as No valid data, Incomplete sector, Corners only or Unit mismatch; hover it for details. Cells that need a channel open Channel sources.
Summary rows and templates
Summary rows show Min, Max, Average and Theoretical best lap. ⋯ → Template → Save current view keeps the metrics, regions and filters on this device.
