User guideIV. Calculate & reuse

Lookup tables, time shift and resampling

Turn a known relationship table into a new channel, or shift and resample a formula's output.

Where to find it

  • Navigation → Calculations → + New → Formula → Signal processing → Lookup calculation or Time shift & resampling (both sections are in every formula editor)

Steps

  1. Add a table

In the formula editor, expand Lookup & inverse lookup and click Add lookup (up to 8 per formula). Set the Table variable, Input axes (1D curve, 2D grid or 3D cube), Value unit and Outside range: Leave blank or Clamp to boundary.

  2. Fill in the axes and values

For each axis enter Axis nodes (2–64 increasing numbers, separated by commas or spaces) and an Axis unit, then fill in the grid; a 3D table is edited slice by slice. Blank cells count as missing, and a table holds up to 4096 cells.

  3. Use the table

Click Use this table to write LOOKUP, LOOKUP2D or LOOKUP3D into the formula, then bind a channel to each input. A 1D table also offers Use inverse lookup, whose values must be strictly increasing or decreasing.

  4. Shift the output in time

Expand Time shift & resampling, tick Configure output clock and enter Time offset (seconds). The formula is evaluated first, then its timestamps move: positive values delay, negative values advance.

  5. Resample, then save

Tick Resample at fixed intervals and set Interval (seconds) and Sampling method: Linear interpolation or Hold previous value. Check the preview and save the formula.

Good to know

  • How values are worked out

Inputs are converted to each axis unit, then the table is interpolated linearly between nodes.

  • Setup curves as tables

Curve parameters from the vehicle setup can be added under Reference record parameters and used as LOOKUP(p1, a).

  • Limits

Resampling produces up to 1 million points and does not extrapolate. Conditions can only hold the previous value.

  • For a 3D point cloud

To view RPM, TPS and Lambda together, add a Relationship plot and switch it to 3D; no table is needed.

  • Lattiro Assistant · Beta (invite only)

Formulas proposed by the assistant do not include lookups or an output clock; add them here in the editor.
