Corrections: units, calibration and time offset

Correct a recorded channel's unit, scale or timing, and keep the recorded values available as “name · Raw”.

Where to find it

  • Channel management → select a recorded channel → Correction
  • or Correct channel beside a plotted channel
Channel management: names, categories, notes and roles
Channel management: names, categories, notes and roles

Steps

  1. Start a correction

In Channel management, select a recorded channel and click Add correction in the Correction section (Edit if one exists). In a plot, the Correct channel button beside the channel opens the same editor.

  2. Choose the method

Set unit keeps the values. Linear conversion uses Factor and Offset: result = raw value × factor + offset. Calibration curve takes 2–64 pairs of Raw value and Result value, with raw values increasing.

  3. Set unit and timing

Choose the Output unit and, if needed, a Time offset (s). A calibration curve interpolates linearly between its points and leaves values outside its range blank.

  4. Save it

Click Save correction. The corrected values take the channel's name; the recorded values stay selectable as “name · Raw”.

Good to know

  • Existing plots and formulas

Saving in Channel management does not change what existing plots and formulas use. Correcting from a plot switches that plot to the corrected values.

  • Remove a correction

Remove shows the recorded values again; plots that use the corrected values will no longer show them. If a formula uses the correction, remove that reference first.

  • Quick filter

Right-click a channel name in a plot legend to open Channel filter. Choose a Method (Zero-phase low-pass, Median spike removal, One-way low-pass, Moving average, FIR · Hamming or Recursive tau filter), set its parameter, compare Original with Filtered, then click Output channel. The new channel is added to the same plot; the original stays.

  • When values look wrong

If the vendor's software shows correct physical values, the Lattiro import may need attention; if both are wrong, check the sensor setup on the logger. Assigning a role does not convert values.

  • Calculated channels

Corrections apply to recorded channels only. To change a calculated channel, edit its formula.
